Pferde App discontinued: Your alternative for 2026
The Pferde app has been unavailable since 12/31/2024. Here you’ll find honest alternatives and learn why ManeMap is taking a different approach.
You’ve probably already noticed: the Pferde App shut down completely on December 31, 2024. After nearly five years, one of Germany’s best-known horse apps is history. A lot of people are now left wondering: what comes next?
What exactly happened?
The Pferde App, which had struck a deal with Carsten Maschmeyer on "Die Höhle der Löwen" in 2019, ceased operations at the end of the year. As of July 1, 2024, no new subscriptions were sold. The app was a stable management tool that let stables coordinate staff and horse owners organize their horses.
The team behind the founders had made it their mission to digitize stable management. Plan appointments, assign tasks, document everything. For many, the app was a real help in everyday stable life.
What are users missing now?
Frustration is running high in Facebook groups and forums. Former users especially miss:
Easy scheduling for the farrier, vet, and the like
The ability to track costs
Sharing appointments with other boarders
Centralized documentation of all horse data
Reminders for important appointments
Understandably, after years of using it, there’s suddenly a huge gap. You got used to the system, and now it’s all gone.
What alternatives are there at all?
The market for horse apps in Germany is pretty limited. Still, you do have a few options:
Classic stable management apps: Some smaller providers are trying to fill the gap. But most are still very young or have few users.
General organization apps: Google Calendar, Notion, or Todoist can manage appointments and tasks. But they’re not made specifically for horses.
Stable-specific solutions: Some stables develop their own digital boards or use WhatsApp groups. It works, but it’s often hard to keep track of.
Honestly: there is currently no 1:1 alternative to the Pferde App. At least not with the same reach and the same range of features.
Why ManeMap takes a different path
ManeMap is deliberately not a stable management tool. We focus on something else: your personal AI assistant for horse care.
Milo, our AI, gets to know your horse. He knows that your 20-year-old mare is more sensitive in rainy weather than usual. He combines the weather data with your horse’s age and suggests that today you’d be better off following the winter blanket routine instead of the usual care plan.
That’s a completely different approach. Instead of stable coordination, you get personalized care support. Instead of staff management, you get weather context and individual reminders.
When ManeMap is not the right choice
Be honest with yourself: if you mainly need a stable management tool, ManeMap isn’t for you. We can’t:
Coordinate staff
Manage stable occupancy
Create invoices for multiple boarders
Organize large teams
ManeMap is aimed at individual horse owners who want to give their horse the best possible care. If you manage an entire stable or mainly want to handle administrative tasks digitally, look for other solutions.
But if you’re looking for an intelligent companion that helps you better understand and care for your horse, ManeMap could be interesting for you.
Your next step
ManeMap automatically reminds you of the most important care appointments — personalized for your horse.
The well-known horse app from "Die Höhle der Löwen" ceased operations on 31/12/2024. Many users are looking for alternatives for stable management and horse organization.
